Relation to other events
As mentioned before, "Bleeding Kansas" was one of the direct effects of the Compromise of 1850, along with the stricter Fugitive Slave Act. Despite this, many of the other topics in the Incivility epoch are actually very related to the Missouri Compromise of 1850.
Three of the topics in this epoch that relate to the Compromise of 1850 are the Wilmot Proviso, The Kansas-Nebraska Act, and the Birth of the Republican Party. All of these topics relate to the issue of slavery, and were placed as a result or response to slavery by several different groups of people.

Wilmot Proviso
This was a proposal made by David Wilmot. It served to make sure that slavery would not be allowed in territories that were taken from Mexico. It was not successful, but it led to a place for the Republican Party to start its beginnings.

Kansas-Nebraska ActThe Kansas-Nebraska Act was a proposal made by Stephen Douglas. This act broke down the Nebraska territory into two, a southern Kansas territory and a northern Nebraska territory. Many issues came with this, such as the aforementioned "Bleeding Kansas".

Republican PartyThe Birth of the Republican Party can be attributed to many factors. However, the rise of the North's hatred towards the South can be traced to the stricter Fugitive Slave Act. This hatred, combined with a split of the Whigs and Democrats due to slavery, were the factors that led to the eventual Republican Party.
